Condor marked the inauguration of its new daily Frankfurt (FRA)–Cairo (CAI) route on June 26, 2026, with an arrival ceremony at Cairo International Airport attended by airport officials, local authorities, and airline executives. The route is operated in cooperation with Helvetic Airways using Embraer E190 aircraft, and gives Frankfurt-area passengers a year-round nonstop option to Egypt's capital.
Cairo's metropolitan area of more than 20 million inhabitants makes it one of the largest and most economically significant urban centres in Africa and the Middle East. Condor CEO Peter Gerber cited the city's tourism appeal—anchored by the recently opened Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza, and Nile cruise departure points—alongside its role as a major business hub as the strategic rationale for the route, as reported by Condor's official newsroom.
The Frankfurt–Cairo route serves three market segments simultaneously: German leisure travellers heading to Egypt, Egyptian VFR and business traffic to Germany, and connecting passengers who can use Condor's Frankfurt hub as a gateway to the carrier's long-haul network to North America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia. Aviation Week notes the addition as part of Condor's sustained international expansion following its rebranding and strategy update under CEO Gerber.
Bookings are available at condor.com, by phone, and through travel agencies.
