Riyadh Air launched scheduled service between King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and Cairo International Airport (CAI) on June 25, 2026, adding Egypt's capital as the airline's fourth scheduled destination. The daily Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operation runs flight RX331 departing Riyadh at 4:10 p.m. and arriving Cairo at 6:55 p.m. local time; the return RX332 departs Cairo at 8:25 p.m. and arrives Riyadh at 11:00 p.m. — a sector of approximately two hours and 45 minutes on the 1,003-mile (1,615 km) route.
Riyadh Air described the new connection as serving "one of the Middle East's busiest international markets," citing demand from business travelers, tourists, pilgrims, and VFR traffic, according to Aviation Week. The airline marked the inaugural Cairo flight with a ceremony attended by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Egypt and senior executives from both Riyadh Air and Cairo International Airport, as reported by Al Arabiya English.
Riyadh Air, wholly owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), operated its very first commercial flight — Riyadh to London Heathrow — on June 10, 2026, having brought its launch forward by roughly three weeks. Cairo follows Jeddah and Dubai on the airline's rapid expansion timeline, with Madrid (July 17) and Manchester (July 23) slated next. The carrier is targeting a 100-destination network by 2030 on its growing Boeing 787-9 fleet, according to AeroRoutes.
