Lufthansa will resume nonstop service between Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) on October 25, 2026, restoring a connection that last operated in 2016 after a decade-long absence. The route will run five times weekly on a year-round basis using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner configured with Lufthansa's new Allegris cabin product: 28 business class seats (1-2-1 layout), 28 premium economy seats, and 231 economy seats across 287 total, per Simple Flying.

Outbound flight LH704 departs Frankfurt at 9:30 PM, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 PM the following day. Return flight LH705 departs Kuala Lumpur at 11:55 PM, arriving in Frankfurt at 6:00 AM the next morning. The route spans 8,690 km, with scheduled block times of approximately 12 hours 10 minutes outbound and 13 hours 5 minutes inbound, per Travel And Tour World.

Lufthansa has designed the schedule around European connecting traffic, with Zurich, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester, and Rome among its priority feeder markets — none of which have a nonstop link to Kuala Lumpur. Approximately 54,000 round-trip passengers flew the Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur corridor in the 12 months to June 2026, a figure the airline expects to grow with nonstop availability, per Simple Flying. Singapore Airlines has placed its SQ code on the service, providing independent corroboration of the launch. Seats are already on sale.
