EGYPTAIR launched nonstop service between Cairo International Airport (CAI) and Birmingham Airport (BHX) on Sunday, October 25, 2026, the opening day of the 2026/27 winter schedule. The Star Alliance member is the sole carrier operating nonstop between the two cities, according to Air Service One.
The 3,665-km service operates four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, using a Boeing 737 MAX 8. Flight MS769 departs Cairo at 08:40 local time and arrives in Birmingham at 12:30. The return service (MS770) departs Birmingham at 13:30, arriving in Cairo at 20:40.
Birmingham is now EGYPTAIR's third UK destination, joining existing services to London and Manchester. The route targets business travellers, tourists and Egyptians living in the Midlands region, according to Egyptian Streets.
Mohamed Elian, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR, said the new service connects Birmingham to the airline's extensive network across Africa, the Middle East and the Far East, providing passengers with convenient onward connections, as reported by Air Service One.
The Birmingham launch is one of three European additions EGYPTAIR is making in 2026, alongside Venice (launched July 29) and Stockholm Arlanda, which is scheduled to begin on December 18. By year-end, the carrier plans to serve 27 airports across 18 European countries. Birmingham Airport confirmed the inaugural flight in its October half-term announcement.
