Wizz Air launched a new 4x-weekly service between Málaga Airport (AGP) and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) on July 6, 2026. Flights operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, connecting Spain's Costa del Sol with one of Italy's most-visited destinations. The service is operated by Wizz Air Malta.
Aviation Week reported the inauguration in its week-of-July-6 rolling update, noting the Málaga–Venice launch alongside a simultaneous Wizz Air expansion from Sofia, Bulgaria, where the carrier based a new Airbus A321neo and launched routes to Budapest and Rhodes. The Sofia additions raised Wizz Air's based fleet in Bulgaria to 11 aircraft and increased its summer 2026 capacity from Sofia by 61% year on year. New routes from Bratislava to Agadir, Hurghada, and Baku are also planned for late October.
The Málaga–Venice pairing creates a direct low-cost connection between the two cities for the first time, giving travellers on both sides an option that previously required connections via Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, or other hubs. Wizz Air operates to 18 Spanish destinations across its European network in 2026, with Spain among the carrier's highest-frequency leisure markets. Venice Marco Polo is a long-standing Wizz Air airport with connections from across Central and Eastern Europe.
Availability on the Málaga–Venice route has been independently verified via Wizz Air's booking website, with fares from €19, and by third-party flight aggregator Trip.com, which shows active nonstop scheduling under the Wizz Air Malta entity from early July onward.
