flydubai will resume daily nonstop flights between Dubai International Airport (Terminal 3) and Aleppo International Airport (ALP) from July 20, 2026, restoring a route that was shut down with the outbreak of Syria's civil war more than 14 years ago.
The Dubai-based low-cost carrier's CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith confirmed the relaunch in a statement to UAE state news agency WAM, describing it as "an important milestone in our network expansion strategy." Aleppo becomes flydubai's second destination in Syria, joining Damascus, which the airline resumed in 2025 and now serves three times daily.
The daily service is timed to meet demand during the peak summer travel season and is positioned to strengthen economic, cultural and family links between the UAE and Syria's second-largest city. flydubai operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft across its network.
The relaunch of air links to Aleppo reflects the broader recovery of international aviation to Syria following the end of the Assad government's rule in late 2024. Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier flynas is also scheduled to begin 2x-weekly Riyadh to Aleppo service from August 1, and Turkish carrier SunExpress plans to launch the only nonstop Antalya to Aleppo route on the same date, according to Aviation Week. Air Arabia separately resumed Sharjah to Aleppo service around the same period.
