SunExpress, the joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, will begin twice-weekly nonstop service between Antalya Airport (AYT) and Aleppo International Airport (ALP) on August 1, 2026. Flights operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, making it the only nonstop connection between Antalya and Aleppo, according to Aviation Week.
SunExpress announced the Syria expansion on July 9, framing the Aleppo service as part of a broader resumption of Middle East operations following a temporary suspension due to regional tensions. The carrier had already restored Izmir-Dubai twice-weekly service from July 7 and is adding Antalya-Dubai, Izmir-Beirut, Antalya-Erbil, Antalya-Beirut, and Trabzon-Bahrain routes across mid-July, per IntelliNews.
The Antalya-Aleppo launch is paired with a new Izmir-Aleppo service starting August 2, which will fly on Fridays and Sundays. Together the two routes add four weekly nonstop arrivals from Turkey into Aleppo. Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) confirmed all schedule details from a company statement.
The launch is part of a multi-airline push to reconnect Syria's second-largest city. flydubai is resuming Dubai-Aleppo daily service from July 20 and flynas is launching Riyadh-Aleppo on August 1.
