SunExpress will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) and Aleppo International Airport (ALP) on August 2, 2026, one day after its Antalya-Aleppo debut. Flights will operate on Fridays and Sundays, according to IntelliNews and Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The Izmir route is part of the same Syria expansion announced by SunExpress on July 9. The joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa suspended some Middle East services amid regional tensions earlier in 2026 and is rebuilding that network in phases. The carrier restored Izmir-Dubai service from July 7, establishing Izmir as a second Turkish departure hub alongside Antalya for the Middle East recovery.
Together, the Antalya (Wednesday/Saturday) and Izmir (Friday/Sunday) Aleppo services will provide four scheduled weekly arrivals into Aleppo from Turkish cities. SunExpress operates from a dense network of Turkish and German airports.
Syria's aviation market has been gradually reopening since 2025. Aleppo International Airport, serving Syria's second-largest city and a historic commercial and industrial center, is drawing renewed airline attention alongside Damascus. The August SunExpress launches complement flydubai's July 20 Dubai-Aleppo restoration and flynas' August 1 Riyadh-Aleppo debut.
