Delta Air Lines will launch daily nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) beginning June 7, 2027, operated on an Airbus A321neo, according to Delta's official press release issued September 18, 2026. AeroRoutes confirmed the specific start date and aircraft type from Delta's schedule filing.
The route is a year-round service and adds Delta to a LAX-PHL market currently served nonstop by American Airlines and United Airlines. Delta's Airbus A321neo on domestic routes features Delta One business class suites and Delta Comfort+ premium economy seating, offering a more premium product than current competitors on the corridor.
Philadelphia joins the LAX network as part of a broader expansion announced September 18. Delta plans more than 200 daily departures from LAX at its summer 2027 peak. Other additions in the same announcement include twice-daily Monterey service starting December 19, 2026, plus frequency increases to Boston, San Diego, Raleigh-Durham, Cincinnati, Houston, San Antonio, and Seattle, as reported by Business Travel News.
Delta VP of Los Angeles and West Sales Scott Santoro told BTN that increased corporate demand from Los Angeles is a key driver of the airline's LAX expansion.
