Transavia announced on August 7, 2026 that it will open a new three-weekly route between Brussels Airport (BRU) and Porto (OPO) from December 14, 2026. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Tickets went on sale August 5, per the Transavia press release.

The Air France-KLM subsidiary describes Porto as a year-round destination for both city breaks and longer holidays, known for its UNESCO-listed historic center, port wine cellars along the Douro River, and proximity to the Douro Valley. The new service is aimed at leisure travelers from Belgium and the south of the Netherlands.

Transavia has operated at Brussels Airport since 2022 and opened its own crew base there in 2026, employing locally based cockpit and cabin crew as part of its long-term Belgian growth strategy. The carrier already serves Porto from its Amsterdam hub; Brussels marks the second Belgian-origin connection to Portugal, per Aviation24.be.

At launch, Transavia will compete on the route with Brussels Airlines and TAP Air Portugal. Ryanair serves Brussels-Porto during summer only, per Zaventem.me. The Portugal News confirmed the announcement on August 7, citing the Lusa national news agency.
