Air Canada will launch the first-ever nonstop flights between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) on December 4, 2026, operating three times weekly through March 26, 2027 on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
Flights depart Montreal on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 5:40 p.m. (AC962), arriving in Quito at 12:10 a.m. the following day. The return (AC963) departs Quito at 9:00 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Montreal at 3:15 p.m. Air Canada's official press release confirms this as a brand-new Montreal–Quito market, not previously served by the carrier from Trudeau. (Air Canada's lower-cost Rouge subsidiary briefly flew Toronto–Quito in 2019–2020; the new service is distinct and uses mainline 787 equipment.)
Quiport, the operator of Quito's Mariscal Sucre Airport, confirmed Air Canada's return to Ecuador on its website. Travelweek.ca independently confirms the three-weekly Montreal frequency and 787-8 aircraft. Quito is Ecuador's capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated at 2,850 metres (9,350 ft) above sea level in the Andes — one of the highest-altitude capitals in the world and an increasingly popular destination for Canadian travellers.
