Air Transat will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Geneva Airport (GVA) from June 19, 2027, using an Airbus A321LR. Geneva is an entirely new destination for Air Transat, announced on October 29, 2026, as part of a five-route Summer 2027 expansion, according to Aviation Week.
Geneva joins Birmingham as one of two brand-new destinations in the five-route package. At twice-weekly operations, the Montreal-Geneva service will be the highest-frequency of the five new Summer 2027 additions from Air Transat.
Simple Flying confirmed the Montreal-Geneva route in its coverage of Air Transat's October 29 announcement, listing the June 19, 2027 start date with twice-weekly A321LR operations.
Geneva Airport serves both the Swiss city and the wider cross-border Haute-Savoie region of France, making it an attractive gateway for leisure and business traffic from Montreal's large French-speaking population. The A321LR's range capability allows Air Transat to mount the service without needing a widebody aircraft.
Aviation Week noted that before the five new Air Transat routes were announced, airlines had already committed approximately 15.79 million two-way Canada-Europe seats for Summer 2027, a 4.2% increase over the prior year.
