Alaska Airlines will operate seasonal nonstop service between Portland International Airport (PDX) and Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) - the gateway to Steamboat Springs, Colorado - from February 11 through March 28, 2027. The airline announced the route on July 23, 2026, per its official newsroom.
Flights run twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays. The Portland departure is at 10:40 a.m., arriving in Steamboat Springs at 2:05 p.m. The return departs Yampa Valley at 2:45 p.m. and lands in Portland at 4:35 p.m., per the Alaska Airlines newsroom. The route operates with an Embraer 175, which Alaska configures with 76 seats and no middle seats.
Alaska Airlines spokesperson Sarah Lasky confirmed to OregonLive that this is the first-ever direct service between Portland and Yampa Valley Regional Airport. Aviation Week and KATU independently reported the announcement this week.
Steamboat Springs, trademarked as "Ski Town, U.S.A.," is home to Steamboat Resort with 2,965 acres of terrain across five mountains. The route is Alaska's second direct Portland-Colorado link after its year-round Denver service. The airline allows passengers to check ski and snowboard equipment up to 50 pounds and 115 linear inches as a standard checked bag without an oversize fee.
