Air Canada inaugurated seasonal nonstop service between Montréal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in early July 2026, operating three times per week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Montreal, and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from Berlin, per Simple Flying. The service runs through September 6, 2026, per Aviation24.be.
The route launched with a Boeing 787-8, transitioning to the Airbus A321XLR from July 19, making Berlin Brandenburg Airport the first airport in Germany to receive regular scheduled A321XLR long-haul services. The A321XLR-configured aircraft seats 182 passengers, including 14 in Business Class. Block time is approximately 7 hours 45 minutes westbound (YUL to BER) and 8 hours 40 minutes eastbound (BER to YUL), per Simple Flying's schedule data.
VisitBerlin noted the announcement in November 2025, calling it a "strong signal for the growth market of Canada." Air Canada last served Berlin in 2019. OAG data cited by Simple Flying showed 23,000 round-trip passengers flew between YUL and BER in the 12 months to April 2026, making it Montreal's largest unserved European market at that time.
The route complements existing North American services to Berlin from United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air Transat, and Norse Atlantic Airways.
