Qatar Airways resumed service between Doha's Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Helsinki Airport (HEL) on July 15, 2026, following a network suspension that saw the carrier ground routes and an entire subfleet during the Iran conflict earlier in 2026.
The route launches with four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft. From August 1, 2026, Qatar Airways plans to increase frequency to daily service, with alternating morning and afternoon departures to offer Finnish passengers a broader range of onward connection options through Doha's hub, according to Airpro, Finland's leading aviation ground services provider.
Airpro has been selected as Qatar Airways' ground handling partner at Helsinki Airport, covering passenger services, ramp handling, baggage handling, and de-icing. The partnership is expected to support approximately 360 Qatar Airways flights annually. The launch was marked with a gate ceremony at Helsinki Airport on the day of the inaugural flight.
Through Doha, the reinstated Helsinki service gives Finnish travellers access to Qatar Airways' global network, with connections across Asia, Australia, Africa, and the wider Middle East. The airline serves more than 160 global destinations during the summer 2026 schedule, according to Simple Flying.
