Qatar Airways Company Q.C.S.C., operating as Qatar Airways, is the national flag carrier of Qatar. Established by the government of Qatar on November 22, 1993, the airline began operations on January 20, 1994, and has been 100% state-owned since 2013. The airline's headquarters are located in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha, with its primary operational base and main hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha.
The airline operates a diverse fleet of over 200 aircraft, including both narrow-body and wide-body types from Airbus and Boeing. Its fleet comprises the Airbus A320 family, A330, A350 XWB, and A380, as well as the Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner families, and the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Qatar Airways was notably the launch customer for the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 777-200LR. The airline operates a hub-and-spoke network, serving over 170 international destinations across six continents, connecting cities in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, and Australia.
Qatar Airways has been a member of the Oneworld airline alliance since October 2013, enhancing its global reach and offering reciprocal benefits for frequent flyers. Known for its luxurious offerings, the airline provides various cabin classes, including First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class. Its Business Class features the acclaimed Qsuite, offering private suites with sliding doors, and options for customizable spaces such as double beds and quad configurations. Economy Class passengers also benefit from wide seats, adjustable headrests, soft cushioning, blankets, and seatback entertainment screens even on narrow-body aircraft. The airline's frequent-flyer program is the Privilege Club, which uses Avios as its currency.
