Aeromexico will launch daily nonstop service between Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) and John Wayne Airport in Orange County (SNA) on January 11, 2027. The route will be operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8 configured with 166 seats across Premier Class, AM Plus and Economy, according to the joint Aeromexico-Delta press release published via Oregon Business.
Flight MEX-SNA departs Mexico City at 09:15 local time and arrives in Orange County at 11:30. The return departs SNA at 13:00 and arrives in Mexico City at 19:00. Aeromexico will be the only carrier operating nonstop on the route, according to Cirium schedule data cited by The Points Guy.
The announcement follows the U.S. Department of Transportation lifting restrictions that had previously limited Aeromexico's expansion into the U.S. market, as reported by FlightGlobal.
The Orange County route is one of three new U.S. gateways Aeromexico is adding simultaneously, alongside Fort Lauderdale (from January 14) and Portland (from January 21). Together, the additions expand the Aeromexico-Delta joint venture network to cover 27 U.S. destinations. Both carriers operate under an immunized Joint Cooperation Agreement covering schedules and fares across the U.S.-Mexico market.
