Deutsche Lufthansa AG, commonly known as Lufthansa, is the flag carrier of Germany and the largest airline in Germany. Founded on January 6, 1926, it is one of the five founding members of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, established in 1997. The airline is actively modernizing its fleet, adding aircraft like the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900, many of which feature the new Allegris cabin across all travel classes, offering enhanced comfort and efficiency. Lufthansa serves over 200 destinations worldwide, with a route network that includes domestic, European, and extensive international flights, including long-haul routes to New York City since 1955.
The airline offers various cabin classes, including Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. Business Class on long-haul aircraft features lie-flat beds, laptop power outlets, and entertainment facilities, with dedicated check-in counters and lounges. Lufthansa is rolling out its new Allegris cabin product across its fleet, including new deliveries and retrofits of existing aircraft like the Boeing 747-8 and Airbus A380, with a total group investment of €2.5 billion by 2025. The airline also operates a frequent-flyer program called Miles & More.
