Lufthansa launches a new nonstop service between Munich Airport (MUC) and Rovaniemi Airport (RVN) in Finnish Lapland on 4 December 2026, operating two flights per week on Fridays and Sundays using an Airbus A320neo, per Simple Flying.
Flight LH2466 departs Munich at 11:30 local time and arrives Rovaniemi at 15:45; return flight LH2467 departs Rovaniemi at 16:40 and arrives Munich at 18:55, per the same source.
Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and home to the Santa Claus Village near the Arctic Circle, is a major winter tourism draw for Northern Lights experiences, cross-country skiing and Christmas events. Lufthansa already connects Rovaniemi from its Frankfurt hub with twice-weekly flights; an additional weekly Frankfurt–Rovaniemi frequency also launches this winter alongside the new Munich service. Separately, Lufthansa is adding a second weekly Frankfurt–Kuusamo flight and additional Munich–Kittilä frequencies for the 2026–2027 season, per Aviation A2Z.
The Munich–Rovaniemi route has never previously been operated by Lufthansa, making it a genuinely new link rather than a restoration. Passengers from Munich can now fly nonstop to Lapland without connecting through Frankfurt.
