Frontier Airlines will launch weekly nonstop service between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) in Cartagena, Colombia, beginning December 19, 2026. The Saturday-only service is the third and final leg of Frontier's first-ever South American expansion, announced at an Orlando event on September 10, 2026, per the official Frontier press release. All routes remain subject to government approval.

Frontier has not specified which aircraft type will operate the route; the carrier's fleet consists of Airbus A320-family aircraft. Introductory one-way fares from $129 were available through September 16, 2026, for select travel dates from January 14 to April 5, 2027, per Upgraded Points.

Cartagena is Colombia's primary Caribbean leisure destination, known for its colonial old city and beach tourism. Frontier will be the only airline connecting Orlando and Cartagena nonstop at launch, filling a gap left by Spirit Airlines, which operated the route until its shutdown in 2025, per AeroCorner.

The Cartagena service is positioned as a leisure route, reflected in its single weekly Saturday frequency. It joins Frontier's Medellín service (December 10, daily) and Bogotá service (December 14, initially six weekly) as part of the same Colombia expansion package. Together, the three routes mark Frontier's first operation anywhere in South America.
