Etihad Airways Launches First-Ever Abu Dhabi–Krakow Flights with A321LR
Etihad Airways launched its first-ever service to Krakow in the week of June 10–16, operating three-weekly A321LR flights from Abu Dhabi to Poland's primary inbound tourist city.
Etihad Airways launched its first-ever service to Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK) during the week of June 10–16, 2026, operating three-weekly flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) using first-class-equipped, 160-seat Airbus A321LR aircraft.
Krakow is Poland's primary inbound tourism destination — renowned for its UNESCO-listed Old Town, Wawel Castle, and Jewish quarter — and represents a new market for Etihad's European narrowbody network. By comparison, rival flydubai has served Krakow from Dubai with up to twice-daily Boeing 737 MAX 8 flights in 2026, but no Gulf carrier had previously linked the city directly to Abu Dhabi.
The three-weekly A321LR deployment reflects Etihad's continued expansion using first-class-fitted long-range narrowbodies across European leisure and semi-business markets. The same week, Etihad also launched first-ever service to Palma de Mallorca on an identical A321LR-operated, three-weekly basis.
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad is in active growth mode despite ongoing regional tensions. Between June and December 2026, the carrier plans to begin or resume a total of ten routes from its hub, including the June resumptions of Damascus (first Etihad service since 2012), Zanzibar City (last served 2023), and seasonal summer destinations.
The Krakow launch was independently confirmed by Simple Flying's weekly routes alert and Aviation Week's rolling updates, both covering the week of June 10–16, 2026.
