Etihad Airways will launch nonstop service from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to Calgary International Airport (YYC) on October 25, 2026. The route operates four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The new service covers roughly 7,168 miles (11,536 kilometers), making it one of the longest routes in Etihad's network. The westbound sector is scheduled to take approximately 14 hours and 35 minutes, according to Aviation A2Z. The launch gives Calgary International Airport its first direct air connection to the Middle East.
Etihad originally announced the route with a November 3, 2026 launch date. Schedule data from Cirium, confirmed by Simple Flying, shows the inaugural was subsequently brought forward to October 25. Etihad's booking site lists the route as available beginning October 2026.
The AUH-YYC service adds a second Canadian destination alongside Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), where Etihad already operates a daily Airbus A380 service. The Calgary route is part of Etihad's record-breaking 2026 North American expansion, during which the airline is offering nearly one million round-trip seats across eight U.S. and Canadian destinations, a 25.7% increase on 2025, per Simple Flying.
