Etihad Airways launched daily nonstop service between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Tashkent International Airport (TAS) on August 9, 2026. The launch coincides with the activation of a new codeshare partnership between Etihad and Uzbekistan Airways, giving Etihad passengers single-ticket access to eight domestic Uzbekistan destinations: Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus, Termez, Fergana, Namangan and Andijan, according to the Uzbekistan Airways official press release published May 15, 2026.
Under the arrangement, Uzbekistan Airways places its HY code on Tashkent-Abu Dhabi flights, while Uzbekistan Airways passengers gain access to Etihad's global network through Abu Dhabi. The first joint flights commenced August 9, per the Uzbekistan Airways press release. Etihad's own destinations page lists Tashkent under "Flying from August 2026."
Aviation Week described the Abu Dhabi-Tashkent launch as part of Etihad's continued push into Central Asia. The airline had already launched services to Almaty, Baku, Bucharest, Tbilisi and Yerevan beginning in June 2026, per EtihadHub.
Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, is a growing destination for both business and regional tourism in Central Asia. The route strengthens Abu Dhabi's connectivity to the region and deepens cooperation between the UAE and Uzbekistan's aviation sectors.
