Oman Air will resume daily direct service between Muscat International Airport (MCT) and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) from July 9, 2026, restoring a GCC capital link the oneworld member last operated in 2020. Schedule data published by AeroRoutes on June 27 confirms flight WY635 operating daily between Muscat and Abu Dhabi, with the Boeing 737-800 or Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Abu Dhabi becomes Oman Air's 49th destination and its 10th within the Gulf Cooperation Council. CEO Con Korfiatis described the route as "a natural addition to our network" that "strengthens the connectivity ecosystem supporting both Oman and the wider GCC," according to The National. Return fares start from OMR 86.200 (approximately US$225) on Oman Air's booking platforms.
The Muscat–Abu Dhabi hop is approximately one hour in the air, making it a practical short-haul GCC link. Oman Air already operates between Muscat and Dubai; the new Abu Dhabi service fills the gap between the carrier's Muscat hub and the UAE capital, which hosts the Etihad Airways hub and a growing airport expansion program.
The Abu Dhabi launch accompanies a simultaneous July 3 debut of a seasonal direct Muscat–Salalah–Dubai route, operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, according to Gulf News. Oman Air has significantly expanded its network throughout 2026, having already added Singapore, Tashkent, and Sochi in the months preceding this announcement.
