DAN AIR will launch direct twice-weekly service between Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) and Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) from 1 July 2026. Flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A320 aircraft.
The Bucharest–Yerevan route is one of four new destinations announced simultaneously by the Romanian private carrier as part of its Caucasus and Middle East expansion. The other new launches are Amman (3x weekly Mon/Wed/Fri) and Tbilisi (2x weekly Tue/Sat), while Aleppo is being formalized as a permanent route.
CEO Matt Ian David described Yerevan as a market that 'remains underserved, yet shows strong and growing demand,' per reporting by Public Radio of Armenia. The route is expected to primarily serve Armenia's diaspora community in Romania and Eastern Europe — a well-established travel corridor that has historically relied on connections through intermediary hubs such as Vienna, Vienna, or Istanbul.
DAN AIR's growth underpins the expansion: the carrier carried more than 272,000 passengers in 2025, up more than 30% year-on-year, while maintaining a 98% on-time performance rate. The airline has also applied for traffic rights to Baghdad, Baku, Beirut, and Cairo, signaling further regional ambition beyond the July 2026 launches.
