Alaska Air Group and Hawaiian Airlines announced on October 20, 2026, that Hawaiian Airlines will launch four-times-weekly nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Kansai International Airport (KIX), serving Osaka, Japan, from May 14, 2027. Flights use Airbus A330-200 aircraft with lie-flat business-class Suites and complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi.
Westbound departures leave Seattle at 12:10 local, arriving Osaka at 16:00 the following day; eastbound services depart Osaka at 18:00, arriving Seattle at 12:20. The service is year-round, operating Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The route marks the first ever nonstop connection between Seattle and Osaka. Hawaiian Airlines has served Honolulu–KIX since 2011, a service that will continue. Per the Port of Seattle, the Osaka launch is the third new international service announced by Alaska Air Group for 2027, following Paris and Athens. Alaska Air Group CEO Ben Minicucci described the expansion as part of the "Alaska Accelerate" initiative to build Seattle into a global hub with at least 15 long-haul international destinations by 2030, per the official press release.
Introductory round-trip fares from Seattle to Osaka start at $1,199, available through October 26. The route is subject to government approval.
