Air Transat will launch weekly nonstop service between Montreal (YUL) and Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) starting June 12, 2026, operated by Airbus A321LR aircraft. The launch creates the first nonstop connection from North America to Agadir, Morocco's premier Atlantic beach resort city.
Agadir has long been one of North Africa's most popular sun-and-sea destinations, drawing European charter traffic in large volumes, but had no direct transatlantic service prior to Air Transat's announcement. The route complements the carrier's existing year-round Montreal services to Casablanca, Algiers, Marrakech, and Tunis, giving the airline a fifth Moroccan entry point.
The June 12 launch date, weekly frequency, and A321LR aircraft are confirmed on the Air Transat official website and corroborated by both Aviation Week and Simple Flying, which describes Montreal–Agadir as "North America's first nonstop service" to the Moroccan coastal city.
The route targets the North African diaspora in French-speaking Canada as well as leisure travelers. With the approximately 3,600-mile (3,100 nm) routing at the A321LR's operating range, the service would be commercially difficult using smaller or older narrowbodies. A dedicated Aviation Week profile notes the Agadir route had been previously confirmed by Air Transat as part of its summer 2026 additions, alongside the new Dakar and Reykjavik services.
