Porter Airlines inaugurated nonstop service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) on May 21, 2026, opening its first-ever route to Texas and strengthening Canadian–U.S. connectivity in the Southwest.
The year-round service operates five times weekly on the Embraer E195-E2, which features Porter's all-economy, no-middle-seat cabin. Passengers receive complimentary snacks and beverages — including beer and wine served in glassware — alongside free high-speed Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat.
"Austin is one of North America's most dynamic and fastest-growing cities, making it an ideal fit for Porter's own growing network of flights," said Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, at the inaugural event hosted by Austin-Bergstrom. "This route opens exciting new opportunities for business, tourism and cultural exchange between the two vibrant cities."
Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi called the launch "an exciting milestone" that "strengthens Austin's role as a global destination." The route gives Austin travelers access to Porter's broader Canadian network through Toronto Pearson, while Canadians gain a direct connection to the fast-growing Texas capital.
Porter has expanded aggressively beyond its Eastern Canada roots since deploying the E195-E2. Austin joins a growing list of U.S. business and leisure markets the carrier now serves nonstop. Visit Austin President Tom Noonan noted the service "makes it easier for Austinites to explore what Toronto and the rest of Canada have to offer" while opening a new inbound channel for international visitors.
