Jazeera Airways operated its inaugural flight between Kuwait International Airport (KWI) and Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) on May 20, 2026, becoming the first airline to connect Kuwait City and Northern Italy without a stopover. The departure from Jazeera's dedicated Terminal 5 (T5) was seen off by Lorenzo Morini, Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, reflecting the route's diplomatic significance.
The service operates three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using Airbus A320neo aircraft on a journey of approximately five hours and 45 minutes. Routes Online announced the route in February 2026, with tickets placed on sale ahead of the May 20 inaugural.
Air Service One confirmed the inauguration, with Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation at airport operator SACBO, calling the service "an important addition to our airline portfolio and a further step in diversifying our international network." Aviation Week included the launch in its rolling routes coverage for the week of May 25.
Jazeera currently serves more than 34 destinations from Kuwait and plans to offer passengers access to over 60 destinations in summer 2026. The Milan Bergamo route expands its European footprint, targeting both leisure travelers from Kuwait and VFR traffic given Kuwait's significant Italian expatriate and business community.
