Jazeera Airways announced on July 14, 2026, that it will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Kuwait International Airport (KWI) and Deir ez-Zor International Airport (DEZ) in eastern Syria, beginning August 8, 2026 (Kuwait Times; Connecting Travel).
Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The outbound service departs Kuwait at 07:40 and arrives in Deir ez-Zor at 10:15 local time; the return departs Deir ez-Zor at 11:00 and lands in Kuwait at 13:25. Block time is approximately two hours and 30 minutes each way. Return fares start from KWD 80 (approximately US$258) (Connecting Travel).
With the addition of Deir Ezzor, Jazeera becomes the only airline serving three Syrian cities directly from Kuwait, alongside its existing routes to Damascus and Aleppo. The carrier reinstated Damascus flights in July 2025, launched Aleppo service in June 2026, and is simultaneously increasing its Kuwait–Damascus frequency from three to four daily flights. Together, the expansions will give Jazeera 26 weekly flights between Kuwait and Syria, its largest-ever presence in the country (Aviation Week; GCC Business News).
"In just one year, we've expanded from serving a single destination to connecting Kuwait with three cities across the country, carrying more than 100,000 passengers while continuing to increase capacity in response to strong customer demand," Chief Commercial Officer Paul Carroll said, as quoted by Kuwait Times.
Deir ez-Zor is located in eastern Syria along the Euphrates River and is home to several historic sites including the ancient city of Dura-Europos and the Byzantine-era fortresses of Halabiye and Zalabiye.
