Ryanair will add Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) to Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) to its schedule from October 25, 2026, the start of the IATA winter 2026/27 season. Ryanair's winter 2026 Sweden schedule spans 43 routes with eight based aircraft across Sweden, including one additional Boeing 737 newly positioned at Stockholm Arlanda, the carrier's largest Swedish base addition in several years. The full programme targets 4.6 million annual passengers in Sweden — up 16% — representing a total fleet investment of US$800 million. The five new routes from Sweden connect Stockholm with Rabat, Warsaw, and Wroclaw, while Gothenburg gains a link to Budapest and Malmö is paired with London, per Aviation24.be.
Warsaw is Poland's capital and largest city with a population of around 1.8 million. The new Arlanda–Warsaw link opens a direct low-cost connection between Sweden and Poland's economic hub, a market that has seen growing travel demand as the Polish diaspora in Scandinavia expands.
Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson warned that a planned 67% increase in Swedish airport security fees from March 2027 — while Swedavia retains the benefit of a recent aviation tax cut — could put future Swedish growth at risk if not addressed by the government.
