Centrum Air resumes twice-weekly flights between Tashkent (TAS) and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Hambantota (HRI), Sri Lanka, from October 28, 2026. The seasonal service operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays through the end of March 2027 using Airbus A320neo aircraft, per Aviation Voice citing AeroRoutes schedule data.
According to Centrum Air's official announcement, economy fares start from UZS 4.3 million, with tickets available through the airline's website and mobile app. CentralAsia+Aero reports Centrum Air will be the sole operator on the Tashkent-Hambantota pair and notes the carrier had earlier considered Colombo before settling on the southern airport. The Hambantota route marks Centrum Air's fifth South Asian destination, joining existing services to Delhi, Hyderabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
Trend.Az reports Centrum Air as the first carrier to operate direct flights specifically between Tashkent and Hambantota.
The service is timed for the dry season on southern Sri Lanka's coast, which runs November to April and is considered peak season for beach tourism and whale watching off Mirissa. Yala National Park, near Hambantota, offers leopard and elephant sightings within the operating window. The route was previously operated by Centrum Air until January 2025 before being suspended.
Aviation Week covered the resumption in its rolling weekly route updates.
