Air China will launch three-weekly service from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Reykjavik Keflavik Airport (KEF) starting October 26, 2026, becoming the first Asian airline to serve Iceland. Reservations opened on July 22, 2026, according to AeroRoutes, which published the schedule.
The route operates via a stop in Copenhagen (CPH) using Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured with 30 flat-bed business class seats in a 2-2-2 layout and 271 economy seats, according to One Mile at a Time. Air China has secured fifth-freedom rights on the Copenhagen-Reykjavik segment, meaning passengers can book the airline solely between CPH and KEF without flying to or from Beijing.
Flight CA807 departs Beijing at 3:30 AM, arrives Copenhagen at 6:30 AM, then continues to Reykjavik arriving at 11:15 AM. The return flight CA808 departs Reykjavik at 1:45 PM, arrives Copenhagen at 5:55 PM, then continues to Beijing, per AeroRoutes schedule data. The service will complement Air China's existing Beijing-Copenhagen operations, which run up to 11 times weekly with A350-900 aircraft, according to Aviation Week.
The Chinese Embassy in Iceland called the new route a "game-changer in travel between China and Iceland." The launch follows growing Chinese visitor numbers to Iceland that have outpaced direct air capacity for several years. Live and Let's Fly noted the fifth-freedom CPH-KEF segment could appeal to European passengers seeking flat-bed business class on a short intra-European hop.
