Air Arabia KSA launched daily Airbus A320 flights between Dammam (DMM) and Madinah (MED) on 20 September 2026, connecting Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province industrial hub with the holy city in a single low-cost hop. The Madinah service operates at daily frequency, a step below the twice-daily cadence of the carrier's Dammam–Jeddah and Dammam–Riyadh routes, reflecting the more specialised traffic patterns on the pilgrimage-heavy corridor.
The airline was created by a consortium of Air Arabia Group, Nesma Group, and KUN Holding Company, with majority Saudi ownership, and received its GACA Air Operating Certificate on 14 September 2026. The official press release named Madinah among the three destinations on Air Arabia KSA's launch day alongside Jeddah and Riyadh.
The Dammam–Madinah route has historically been served by Saudia and seasonal charter carriers. Air Arabia KSA's entry introduces a value-carrier alternative on a route where demand is closely tied to the Islamic calendar, peaking during Umrah and Hajj periods. The airline has indicated plans to add international routes beyond its initial domestic network.
AeroRoutes confirmed schedule data with Dammam–Madinah flights available for booking from 21 September. Arabian Business separately confirmed the September 20 launch and all three inaugural routes.
