Virgin Atlantic launched nonstop seasonal service between London Heathrow (LHR) and Phuket International Airport (HKT) on October 18, 2026, according to the airline's official press release. The route is the only direct passenger link between Heathrow and Phuket — the previous nonstop was operated by Thai Airways briefly during 2021–22, according to Simple Flying.
Flights operate three times weekly: VS214 departs Heathrow at 12:00 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Phuket at 7:10 AM the following morning. VS215 departs Phuket at 9:20 AM on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays, landing at Heathrow at 4:00 PM, per the official press release.
Virgin Atlantic deploys the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in a 258-seat three-class configuration: 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium, and 192 Economy seats. The seasonal service is designed to capture peak northern-winter demand for Thailand beach holidays.
Virgin Atlantic Chief Commercial Officer Juha Jarvinen said: "We're thrilled to introduce our new direct service to Phuket, giving our customers a flavour of one of Southeast Asia's most captivating destinations."
Package holidays with Virgin Atlantic Holidays were on sale from October 30, 2025, from £999 per person. Flight-only bookings opened November 26, 2025. The route joins Virgin's winter-sun portfolio alongside services to Cancun, the Maldives, Dubai, and Cape Town.
