Norse Atlantic Airways UK will launch a new three-times-weekly nonstop service between London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and Phuket International Airport (HKT) on 4 December 2026, running through 16 April 2027. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft, consistent with the carrier's long-haul UK fleet.
According to Aviation Week, TUI Airways is currently the only carrier operating LGW–HKT, making Norse the first new entrant on the route in years. Norse already serves Phuket from Manchester and will operate that route four-times-weekly for winter 2026/27.
Alongside the Gatwick–Phuket launch, Norse is boosting frequencies from London Gatwick to Bangkok to up to five weekly flights during peak winter periods, and expanding capacity from Oslo and Stockholm to both Bangkok (up to 5x weekly) and Phuket (up to 2x weekly), per Scandasia.
Norse Atlantic CEO Eivind Roald described Thailand as "one of the most popular destinations in our network," with the winter expansion reflecting the airline's strategy of deploying aircraft to routes with the highest customer demand and satisfaction. The airline announced the expansion on 22 June 2026, with tickets available directly via flynorse.com.
The new Gatwick–Phuket corridor opens a lower-cost nonstop option for UK travelers to one of Southeast Asia's busiest tourist destinations, where Norse already holds a strong brand presence through its Scandinavian network.
