Air Serbia officially launched nonstop service between Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) and Alicante Airport (ALC) on June 1, 2026, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays using Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. The route has a block time of approximately 3 hours 10 minutes.
Alicante, on Spain's Costa Blanca, becomes Air Serbia's eighth Spanish destination, joining Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, and additional points already in the network. The expansion is notable in context: Air Serbia served zero Spanish airports as recently as 2018, making the eight-destination Iberian footprint achieved by 2026 a rapid commercial transformation for the Serbian flag carrier.
The Costa Blanca around Alicante is home to a significant Balkan and Serbian expat community in addition to being a major European beach and golf tourism destination, providing dual demand drivers—VFR traffic and leisure travelers—for the new route. Air Serbia's home airport Belgrade Nikola Tesla has been expanding capacity with a new terminal section and additional gates under construction, targeting completion by end-2026 to accommodate the carrier's fast-growing schedule.
The Belgrade–Alicante launch follows Air Serbia's recent addition of nonstop service to Málaga, which inaugurated the prior week, making Alicante the second new Spanish destination within a seven-day period for the airline.
