Jetstar Japan officially announced the launch of a new international route linking Naha Airport in Okinawa (OKA) with Kaohsiung Siaogang Airport in Taiwan (KHH), with first flights scheduled for 6 December 2026. The service operates three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight GK097 departs Okinawa at 12:40 and arrives Kaohsiung at 13:35; the return GK098 departs Kaohsiung at 14:35 and arrives Okinawa at 17:15 local time. Airbus A320 aircraft will serve the route.

AeroRoutes confirmed on 11 September 2026 that Jetstar Japan had made an official announcement, after the route first appeared in GDS and OAG schedule filings and was highlighted by AeroRoutes on 24 August 2026. The schedule was briefly withdrawn from OAG before the formal announcement restored it.

The Okinawa-Kaohsiung market has existing competitors. China Airlines, Starlux Airlines and Thai Lion Air already operate on this corridor, meaning Jetstar Japan positions itself as a lower-cost addition to an established market rather than opening a brand-new city pair. DeepArrival reports the airline advertised introductory one-way fares from 8,990 yen at launch.

Kaohsiung is Taiwan's second-largest city and a major southern port hub. Okinawa is a popular Japanese resort island with strong inbound demand from Taiwan and South Korea. Jetstar Japan operates from Tokyo Narita and other Japanese cities as part of the wider Jetstar Group.
