Ethiopian Airlines will launch scheduled passenger service between Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) and Port Harcourt's Omagwa International Airport (PHC) on December 1, 2026. The four-weekly service operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using Boeing 737-8 aircraft, with flight ET945 departing Addis Ababa at 09:30 and arriving in Port Harcourt at 12:25, and the return departure at 13:10 arriving back in Addis Ababa at 20:30.
Port Harcourt becomes Ethiopian's fifth destination in Nigeria, joining Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Enugu. The carrier has served Nigeria since 1960. "We are pleased to further strengthen our presence in Nigeria with the addition of Port Harcourt, our fifth destination in the country," Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said in the official press release, adding that the expansion reinforces trade, tourism and business links between Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world.
Port Harcourt is one of Nigeria's leading commercial and industrial hubs and a key gateway to the country's energy sector. The new route will connect the city to Ethiopian's global network spanning Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas through the Addis Ababa hub. Aviation Week and the African Travel and Tourism Association independently confirmed the December 1 launch and four-weekly schedule.
