DAN AIR Expands Network with Four New Routes from Bucharest Starting July 2026

DAN AIR will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) and Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) from 1 July 2026. Flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A320 aircraft, the same pattern as its simultaneously announced Bucharest–Yerevan route.

Tbilisi is one of four new DAN AIR destinations launching simultaneously on 1 July 2026, alongside Amman (Jordan, 3x weekly) and Yerevan (Armenia, 2x weekly), plus the formalization of Aleppo as a permanent scheduled destination. CEO Matt Ian David said DAN AIR is targeting markets that 'remain underserved, yet show strong and growing demand,' with the Caucasus region representing a particular priority.

Georgia has emerged as a popular destination for Eastern European travelers in recent years. Tbilisi's growing culinary and cultural reputation, combined with a relatively accessible EU-citizen visa regime, has driven demand for direct connectivity from Romania — a market previously served only through hub connections. DAN AIR's entry positions the airline alongside carriers already serving the route via transfer hubs and fills a gap in point-to-point service.

DAN AIR carried more than 272,000 passengers in 2025, a 30%-plus increase year-on-year with a 98% on-time rate. The carrier has also applied for traffic rights to Baghdad, Baku, Beirut, and Cairo as the next wave of its regional expansion.
