Volotea launched twice-weekly nonstop service between Seville Airport (SVQ) and Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) on September 21, 2026, adding Florence as Seville's third Italian destination for the Spanish carrier alongside existing routes to Olbia and Verona, Aviation Week reports. The new route brings Volotea's total Seville network to 11 destinations: six domestic and five international.
The Seville-Florence service is one of four new Florence routes Volotea launched simultaneously during the third week of September 2026, part of a concentrated expansion at its Tuscan base. Other new Florence connections opened at the same time include routes to San Sebastian, Valencia, Berlin, Oviedo, and Strasbourg, Aviation Direct confirms.
Volotea has built Seville into one of its larger Spanish bases, steadily adding European connections to serve leisure travelers in Andalusia. Florence attracts significant demand from southern Spanish tourists seeking cultural and culinary destinations in Tuscany.
The carrier has operated between Seville and Italy previously, with Olbia in Sardinia and Verona both already on its network. Florence extends Volotea's Italian reach from Seville further into the mainland, opening another option for direct Spain-Italy travel without connections via Madrid or Barcelona.
