Oman's SalamAir will launch twice-weekly nonstop service between Muscat International Airport (MCT) and Erbil International Airport (EBL) from October 25, 2026, making Erbil the carrier's second destination in Iraq after Baghdad, according to Aviation Week.
The route will be operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft. Tickets are on sale with one-way Lite fares starting from OMR 54.99, according to FTN News.
SalamAir says the Muscat–Erbil service targets business, trade, tourism and visiting friends and relatives traffic between Oman and Iraq's Kurdistan Region, while also offering onward connections through Muscat to the Indian Subcontinent and Asia. Erbil is the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government and has developed into a significant commercial and aviation hub, with international connectivity expanding considerably in recent years as security conditions improved.
The carrier's entry into Erbil follows its existing Baghdad operations and is part of a broader fleet and network growth strategy. CairoScene confirmed the October 25 start date and noted tickets are already available. Aviation Week also confirmed the route details, including the A320-family equipment and twice-weekly frequency.
