British Airways, operating through its BA Euroflyer subsidiary at London Gatwick, will launch a new seasonal winter route to Rovaniemi, Finland, from December 4, 2026. The service operates twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays through the 2026-27 winter season, with Finavia, the Finnish airport authority, confirming the announcement on July 9, 2026.
Outbound flight BA2862 departs Gatwick at 08:25 on Mondays and 08:30 on Fridays, arriving in Rovaniemi at 14:00 and 14:05 respectively. Return service BA2863 departs Rovaniemi at 14:50 on Mondays and 14:55 on Fridays, arriving back at Gatwick at 16:30 and 16:35.
Rovaniemi becomes the second Finnish Lapland destination served by BA Euroflyer from Gatwick, alongside the carrier's existing Ivalo route. Visit Rovaniemi, the destination's official tourism authority, confirmed the route targets travelers seeking Northern Lights experiences, reindeer safaris and visits to Santa Claus Village, for which Rovaniemi holds the official branding.
Aviation News UK reported the seasonal window runs from December 4, 2026 to January 4, 2027, covering peak Christmas and New Year holiday demand. British Airways also makes Business Class available on the route.
