Cathay Pacific announced on July 17, 2026 that it will expand its seasonal Hong Kong–Adelaide service for the 2026–27 southern summer, increasing peak-period flights from three to five weekly, according to Aviation Week. The expanded schedule represents a nearly 50% increase in seat capacity compared with the route's first season after returning in 2025.

The seasonal service runs from November 10, 2026 through March 27, 2027. Cathay Pacific will operate three weekly flights in November and March, increasing to five weekly flights from December through February. All services use Airbus A350-900 aircraft offering Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins, per Travel and Tour World.

Deep Arrival reported that South Australia estimates the five-weekly peak schedule will deliver approximately 1,400 inbound seats per week during the busiest travel period, supporting tourism, international education, business travel, and air cargo through aircraft belly capacity.

Adelaide is Cathay Pacific's eighth Southwest Pacific destination. The carrier also operates year-round services from Hong Kong to Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, with separate seasonal services to Cairns and Christchurch — the latter also receiving a frequency boost to five weekly for the same summer peak period.
