Official taxis are available 24/7 outside the arrivals area of both Terminal 1 (Gate A1) and Terminal 2 (Gate A3). A flat rate of €32 is fixed for trips to Nice city center. Fares to other destinations like Cannes or Monaco are metered. Ride-sharing services such as Uber are also available for pickup at designated points.
The Car Rental Center is located at Terminal 2, just behind the P5 car park. A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals and the rental center every 5-10 minutes. Major providers like Hertz, Avis, Europcar, and Sixt are available. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially during peak tourist season.
The airport is well-connected by the Lignes d'Azur network.
- Tram: Line 2 directly connects both terminals to the city center (Jean Médecin station) and the Port (Port Lympia station). Trams run frequently and are the most cost-effective way to get to central Nice.
- Bus: Regional buses depart from the bus station at Terminal 2, providing connections to nearby towns like Cannes, Antibes, and Monaco.
- Train: The nearest train station is Nice-Saint-Augustin, accessible via a short walk from the 'Grand Arénas' tram stop (one stop from the airport). This station serves regional TER trains along the coast.
This place is dear to my heart because this is where I grew up, and most of my family still live here....
About 25 years ago my father had a little 20ft sailboat which was berthed at Port-Saint-Laurent (the marina you can see just west of the airport on the satellite picture). I remember once we were sailing and the Concorde just flew overhead on short final (it used to come every year in May for the Cannes festival and Monaco GP, one year there were five of them parked on the tarmac). I still remember this magic roar ! Simply out of this world !
I subsequently saw Concorde take off or land in CDG, LHR and JFK, but nothing beat that memory. I always wanted to fly on Concorde but unfortunately that will never happens, however I feel privileged for having seen (and heard) it in flight.
