About easyJet
easyJet (ICAO: EZY) is a prominent British low-cost airline and package holiday group, headquartered at London Luton Airport. The airline, along with its affiliate companies easyJet UK, easyJet Europe, and easyJet Switzerland, has established itself as one of Europe's largest carriers.
The airline was founded in March 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, launching its initial flights from London Luton to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Since its inception, easyJet has expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions and the establishment of numerous bases across Europe. Its largest operational base is at London Gatwick Airport, with other key bases including Milan Malpensa, Berlin Brandenburg, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam, and Geneva. The airline currently operates 10 bases within the UK. easyJet operates an all-Airbus A320 family fleet, including the A319, A320, A320neo, and A321neo aircraft, known for being one of Europe's youngest and most efficient fleets. Its extensive route network spans over 927 routes across more than 34 countries, focusing primarily on domestic and international scheduled services throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. easyJet is not a member of any major airline alliances like Star Alliance, SkyTeam, or Oneworld. In terms of services, easyJet operates on a low-cost model, offering an "easyJet Plus" frequent flyer program and a package holiday subsidiary, "easyJet Holidays." Business fares provide benefits such as unlimited free date changes, upfront seating, Speedy Boarding, one piece of hold luggage, and fast-track security.
