Ground Transportation
Taxis
Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals terminal of the airport. Fares are generally fixed and not metered, so it is highly recommended to agree on the price with the driver before beginning your trip. They provide a direct and convenient transfer to hotels and other destinations on Mahé island.
Rental Cars
Several international and local car rental agencies have counters within the arrivals hall, including major brands like Hertz, Sixt, and Avis, as well as local operators. Pre-booking is strongly advised, especially during peak season. Driving in Seychelles is on the left-hand side, and an international driving permit may be required depending on your country of origin.
Public Transportation
The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) provides a public bus service. The bus stop is located a short walk from the main terminal building. This is the most affordable way to travel, but service can be infrequent, and buses do not operate late at night. Crucially, large luggage is not permitted on board, making this option suitable only for travelers with light baggage.
