Taxis are available directly in front of the terminal building. The official airport taxi service is Rotterdam Airport Taxi, and ride-sharing services like Uber and Bolt also operate here. A trip to Rotterdam city center takes about 20 minutes, and a trip to The Hague takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Several car rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall, including Sixt, Hertz, Europcar, Avis, and Budget. It is advisable to book your vehicle in advance. The rental car pick-up and drop-off locations are situated a short walk from the terminal.
The airport is connected by the RET bus network. Bus line 33 runs frequently between the airport and Rotterdam Central Station. This bus also stops at Meijersplein metro station, providing a connection to Metro line E, which travels directly to both Rotterdam Central and The Hague Central stations. You can pay with a public transport card (OV-chipkaart) or a contactless debit/credit card.
Since 2010 the official name is Rotterdam The Hague Airport, but by many locals still referred to the airport as Vliegveld Zestienhoven.
Rotterdam airport is interest for private pilots, as it has commercial (mainly 737, F27) and GA (business and private) traffic. There are a number of flying clubs based there, one of which is the largest in the Netherlands with 20 aircraft.
I used to work here (landside, at a business totally unrelated to aviation). As an airport it's nice (much smaller than Schiphol) and pretty efficient; while working flight crew members walking by the window and the smell of jet fuel were the biggest reminders of being at an airport.
