Saudi low-cost carrier flynas inaugurated nonstop service between Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and Alexandria's Borg El Arab International Airport (HBE) in early July 2026, with Aviation Week reporting the route had commenced in its week-of-July-6 rolling update. The route operates three times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft. Outbound flights depart Riyadh at 17:55 and arrive in Alexandria at 20:50; return services depart HBE at 21:40 and arrive in Riyadh at 00:40 the following day, according to ConnectingTravel.
The inaugural return flight from Borg El Arab to Riyadh was celebrated on July 9, 2026 by ASE Group, flynas's ground handling partner at HBE. Alexandria is Egypt's second-largest city and main Mediterranean seaport, home to attractions including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Roman Amphitheatre. It joins flynas's existing Egyptian portfolio of Cairo, Assiut, El-Alamein, Sohag, and seasonal routes to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.
The new route forms part of flynas's broader 2026 expansion, which has also added three European destinations — Rome, Munich, and Budapest — to its summer network. The airline operates more than 2,000 weekly flights to around 80 international destinations and cited Saudi Vision 2030 as the strategic driver for growing air connectivity between the Kingdom and Egypt, one of the region's busiest bilateral travel corridors. TTN Worldwide independently confirmed the inauguration.
