Taxis are readily available at a rank located directly in front of the terminal exit. The journey to Ljubljana city center typically takes 20-30 minutes. Fares can vary, so it's advisable to confirm the price with the driver before departure. Shared shuttle services (like GoOpti or Nomago) are also a very popular and often more affordable option that can be pre-booked online.
Numerous car rental agencies operate at the airport, with service desks located in the main arrivals hall. Major international companies such as Sixt, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, and Budget are present, along with local providers. It is recommended to book your vehicle in advance, especially during peak seasons. The car rental parking garage is situated just opposite the terminal building.
A regular public bus line connects the airport with the Ljubljana main bus station (located next to the central train station). The journey takes approximately 45-50 minutes. Buses operate roughly on an hourly schedule on weekdays, with a less frequent service on weekends and public holidays. Tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver.
It's small, it's cosy, it's convenient. It takes you about 10 minutes from the time you've landed to the moment you've sat in the taxi. You have to love it. I just keep coming back.
